The Main intent in project 1A was to use words from Richard Serra’s verb list as a design inspiration. The verbs used in the 9 models, were “to Twist”, “to Roll”, “to Surround”, “to Light”, “to Modulate”, “to Inlay”, “to Wrap”, “to Compliment”, and “to Enclose”. From these models the model that represented the verb “to Roll” was furthered iterated to create a space that could be interacted with. The center of the space cannot be accessed and can be looked into from different angles, making this this main point of attention. By having the circulation of the space on the sides creates a sense of precession as one walks up and down through the “building”. The Verb “To Roll” is perceived from the feeling that the “building” at any point could come off its base and roll away.
